Argiles de Teguentour Fm
Type Locality and Naming
SW Algeria. It is exposed at Jebel Azaz where a basal crinoidal limestone layer was used to assign Late Tournaisian age to the base of the formation (Wendt et al., 2006, 2008).
Synonym: Teguentour Fm.

Lithology and Thickness
The Argiles de Teguentour Formation is predominantly claystone with rare layers of calcareous nodules in the lower part, and some thin intercalations of fine-grained (0.2 mm) sandstone higher up in the sequence (Wendt et al., 2008).
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It conformably overlies the Gres de Khenig Fm.
Upper contact
It is conformably overlain by the Argiles de Tibaradine Fm.
